Organising a successful, profitable fundraiser doesn’t have to be hard work! A race night DIY fundraiser is easy to set up and run – here’s a step-by-step guide to how it works:
-
Book in a package, and tell us how many people you’re expecting
You can book small, and upgrade to a larger package closer to the event date if you need to.
-
Consult with our expert event managers
We’ve run literally thousands of race night events over the past decade, and we’re happy to share our experience with you. Drop us an email or give us a call on 0414 766 473 if you’d like to chat about any aspect of organising your event.
-
Sell your tickets
The more tickets you can pre-sell the better – there’s nothing like having a profit locked up well before the doors even open! Our ebook has some good tips on lightening the ticket sales workload.
-
Receive your kit in the mail
You’ll receive your race night kit a few weeks before the event – it contains a DVD with the races on it as well as fun money for all of your guests, betting slips for the bookies and more.
-
Recruit a couple of people to be your ‘bent bookies’
They don’t need to have any special horse racing knowledge or experience, we’ll provide full easy-to-follow instructions.
-
Hand out fun money on arrival
Give your guests their fun money on arrival, so they can place bets with the ‘bookies’.
-
Offer additional fundraising activities
A racing night fundraiser keeps your guests free to participate in other activities on the night, such as live or silent auctions, raffles, fashion contests and more – all of which can further fuel your profits!
-
Watch the excitement build and enjoy the night!
Once the races start running your guests will be cheering their runners home and celebrating their wins. It’ll be a night to remember!
